Thor Hushovd (BMC Racing) won in 2009.  Sidelined in 2012 by a virus, Hushovd showed he is getting back to form with his recent stage victory at Tour du Haut Var.

American Jacob Rathe (Garmin Sharp), shown above, battered and bruised following a crash, climbs toward the finish in the recent Tour Med TT.  He tweeted on Wednesday: "Off to the cold and unforgiving land of Belgium. Only warriors and the lucky survive. Of which I am, I don't know." (@JacobRathe)  Clearly Rathe is a warrior.  Just 21, he will be on the start line at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad.
