- In 2012 it was Fabian Cancellara who crashed out at the Tour of Flanders and missed Paris-Roubaix.  This year it is 2012 champion Tom Boonen who is out, also after a crash at Flanders.  Cancellara, winner last Sunday at the Ronde, is of course the big favorite for Roubaix.  But he has crashed a couple of times this week, including during P-R recon on Thursday, and everyone will be gunning for him.  He nonetheless remains the big favorite.  But anything can happen in this race.  Cancellara confirming his dominance?  Last year's runner-up Turgot confirming and then some by winning big for Europcar (and France)?  A dreamer like Flecha finally getting the big one? (see my Flecha photo above)  Or an opportunist getting a career win?  An FDJ rider pulling off an upset and sending D.S. and two-time Roubaix winner Marc Madiot into a frenzy?  I for one cannot wait to find out.  Riders expected on the start line with Cancellara include: 2012 runner-up Turgot, perennial contender Flecha, 2011 winner Vansummeren, Roelandts (third at Flanders), Chavanel, Ladagnous, Phinney, Boom, Chainel, Hushovd, Pozzato, Boasson Hagen, Haussler, Farrar, Hayman, 2007 winner O'Grady, Burghardt, Oss, Van Avermaet, Steegmans, Terpstra, Devolder, Greipel, Eisel, Stannard, Vanmarcke, Kristoff, Gusev, Maaskant, Demare, Offredo, Langeveld, Boeckmans, Leukemans, Degenkolb, Engoulvent, Bodnar, ...

- Sunday's Paris-Roubaix departs Compiegne at 10:20am CET (4:20am U.S. Eastern) and is expected at the finish at Roubaix at around 4:51pm CET (10:51am U.S. Eastern).  Paris-Roubaix live streaming video should get underway at around *12:50pm CET (*6:50am U.S. Eastern). *Eurosport's coverage is scheduled to begin at 1:00pm CET (7am U.S. Eastern).
