- Alberto Contador - HD Action Profile

- See also:  Nairo Quintana.  After his performance in the recent Criterium du Dauphine time trial (my photo below), where he managed just 61st place and almost 3 minutes behind rival Chris Froome (third on the day), Alberto Contador (Team Saxo-Tinkoff) said he was only at 75% of his best form.  Two days before the start of the 2013 Tour de France in Porto Vecchio, Corsica, Contador says his form is now at 90% entering the race.  His plan is to be at 100% for the difficult final week.  An attacking Contador is necessary to light up the race.  Contador hasn't thus far this season shown his trademark ability to drop rivals on the climbs and stay away.  But this is the Tour, where it matters most for top contenders.  Below is the second in a series of "HD Action Profiles" (click Contador image for High Definition version) from the 2013 season.  (I've included location and altitude information as recorded by my camera and information about the team bikes.)  I plan to feature at least one rider from each ProTeam as well as riders from many of the smaller teams.  -Pete
