Flashback: 2010 Tour de l'Avenir (Tour of the future):  John Degenkolb (winner of Tuesday's Dauphine Stage 2), 22, of Germany rode to a 5th place finish in the 7km prologue time trial last September at Vierzon.  It was a fine performance, particularly when you consider that stage winner Taylor Phinney (USA) and Alex Dowsett (Great Britain) went 1-2.  Andrew Talansky (USA) was 6th.  The 2010 edition of the Tour de l'Avenir is looking like one of the strongest fields in years with great time trialists/rouleurs, climbers and sprinters and I continue to be glad I made the trip.  -Pete
